GolfNow Migration Guide

Leaving GolfNow?
Here's exactly what that takes.

OpenTeeSheet is booking and door-access software for unmanned, 24/7 golf simulator studios — bays, not tee times. It's self-serve: you set it up yourself in one sitting, and it's free to start.

🔒

They own your customer data

You cannot export the contact information of customers who booked through GolfNow. You cannot market to them, retarget them, or email them a birthday discount. That relationship belongs to GolfNow.

📉

Hot Deals have trained your customers to never pay full price

GolfNow's Hot Deals feature discounts your tee times to drive traffic — their traffic, not yours. Over time, customers learn to wait for the deal. Your rack rate becomes irrelevant.

📄

You signed a contract giving them first right of refusal on your tee times

Read the fine print. Many GolfNow contracts include exclusivity or priority clauses that restrict how you can list your availability elsewhere. You may be in violation if you're already on other platforms.

The Plan

What actually moving looks like

It's self-serve — most venues are set up in under an hour. Here's the real sequence.

1

Create your venue

  • ✓Sign up and add your venue details (name, address, description)
  • ✓Add your bays with pricing, duration, and max players
  • ✓Set your real operating hours — used to generate the booking calendar
  • ✓Connect Stripe if you want to take payment at booking (recommended for unmanned venues — it's your no-show coverage)
  • ✓Connect your smart lock (igloohome, RemoteLock, Kisi, Seam or Salto KS) so booking a bay actually provisions a working door PIN
2

Test it end to end before you rely on it

  • ✓Book a real test slot through your own booking page
  • ✓Pay for it if Stripe is connected — confirm the charge, the confirmation email, and the PIN all arrive
  • ✓Confirm the PIN actually opens the door before a paying customer tries it
  • ✓Cancel the test booking and confirm the door access is revoked
3

Redirect your traffic

  • ✓Update your website's 'Book Now' button to point to your OpenTeeSheet booking page (or embed the widget directly — see below)
  • ✓Update your Google Business Profile booking link
  • ✓Send your existing customers a heads-up — see the email template below
4

Wind down GolfNow on your own timeline

  • ✓Let existing GolfNow bookings run to completion — don't cancel customers mid-commitment
  • ✓Fulfill any remaining GolfNow obligations as booked
  • ✓Give notice per your contract (most require 30-day written notice — see below)
  • ✓Every future direct booking is commission-free

The Legal Stuff

What about your GolfNow contract?

30-day written notice is standard

Most GolfNow contracts require 30 days' written notice to cancel. Send it certified mail and keep a copy. Your cancellation date starts from when they receive it, not when you write it.

Barter tee times already surrendered are gone

If your contract included barter or complimentary tee times you've already provided, those are fulfilled. New barter obligations stop when you cancel. You're not on the hook for barter tee times after cancellation.

Your customer relationships belong to you

GolfNow technically owns the booking transaction data from their platform. However, your customer relationships — people who've walked through your door, joined your mailing list, or found you independently — are entirely yours. Start building that list now if you haven't.

We are not lawyers. This is not legal advice. Read your GolfNow contract carefully before canceling, and consult an attorney if you have specific questions about your obligations.

Set Expectations

What OpenTeeSheet actually does

It's a small, self-serve product. Here's exactly what you get.

🕹️

Bay booking + Stripe payment

Customers pick a bay and a time, pay by card if you've connected Stripe, and get a confirmation email — automatically, no staff involved.

🔑

Real door access

Booking issues a PIN through your connected smart lock (igloohome, RemoteLock, Kisi, Seam or Salto KS). If provisioning fails, the customer is told to expect staff entry instead of a PIN that won't work.

🧩

Embeddable widget

Drop the booking widget into your existing website instead of sending customers to a separate page.

⏱️

Your real hours

Set operating hours per venue — the booking calendar only offers slots you're actually open for.

What it doesn't (yet) do: import a customer list from GolfNow, give you a branded subdomain, or put a human on a call with you. If you need one of those, tell us — support@openteesheet.com.
